This is our family’s first hoverboard. We bought it for our daughter’s 7th birthday. After some research, we landed on the Halo Rover X and couldn’t be happier. With almost no experience, we were all able to ride this hoverboard with only a little practice time. The Rover X is very solid in it’s construction and should take a lot of abuse. Our daughter weighs about 45 pounds. She is at the low end of the recommended weight range for a rider. As a result, the hoverboard will shudder slightly when she hesitates a little in her movements. After reading about this issue, I discovered it is only a result of her minimal weight…which will only improve with time. I am her 255 pound father and the Rover X takes my weight just fine. The hoverboard does very well at helping the rider stay balanced. So far, we have only been riding the hoverboard inside. We plan on trying some offroad riding soon. The large all terrain tires look to be up to the challenge. When buying products like this, it is easy to focus on the price. In the past, I have learned the hard way when bargain shopping. I ended up buying the better option only after wasting money on a cheaper and lesser quality item. You will not be disappointed in the Halo Rover X if you want a solid board that can stand up to years of abuse. The technology integrated into this board will make the learning and riding experience easier and much better. I joke with my daughter that her birthday gift hoverboard is actually mine and she can borrow it whenever she wants…she doesn’t find me to be funny, but I get a kick out of messing with her. BUY IT, it’s well worth it!!!
